Local Chicago band, Sick Day, have created a new song called Dejevu that gets you in the mood to be emo. The song starts off with hard strums that are giving me a grunge vibe. A female voice emerges and, in this music genre, is incredibly refreshing. My favorite lyrics in this song are “I don’t live anywhere near your universe.” I think this single line encapsulates, not only the lyrics as a whole, but the whole song. The unique tone of the melody brings a sort of spice to the song that takes indie to the next level.
